What if all those fairy tales you learned as a child were true, with a twist? Turns out, the land of Ever After also has a dark underbelly of evil that's always trying to break out. We would need a hero with a little firepower. This is a different kind of bedtime story about a fairy godmother named Charlotte. She's not into changing pumpkins into carriages or granting wishes. There are no glass slippers or mice growing into coachmen. This fairy carries a Glock 42 as an added accessory with her wand. It also packs a punch. Her job is to cover part of the realm of Ever After and keep it safe. But something's gone wrong. Charlotte has been stranded in Cincinnati, Ohio. She's not alone. Worse, she's lost her handbook with all the spells. An evil Prince bent on revenge, a Snow Queen with plans of her own, and a local detective trying to figure out what happened, are all on the same collision course. Where's the Fairy Godmother Handbook? Find the book, control the end of this fairytale. Will anyone ever live happily in Ever After? Or is Cincinnati the place where dreams can really come true?

The search for the pieces of Charlotte's magical handbook is on, but it's not an easy task. With all the pages torn out and spread throughout the city, Charlotte, Sir Thomas, and Kat will have to track the pages down one by one. That should be easy, right? Wrong. The pages are falling into the wrong hands with dark consequences. But they are finding something on earth they shouldn't be finding-pockets of magic everywhere as well as more and more displaced people and animals from the Ever After. Meanwhile, Alex is working on a case which shakes him to the core. Someone is replaying the story of Hansel and Gretel. Will the missing children leave behind clues? Charlotte offers to help and to be closer to Alex. Together they can figure out what's going on with the case-and each other. Can the unlikely pair track down the magic pages of the handbook, clues about the missing children, and figure out what the Snow Queen is up to before it's too late?

Our favorite fairy godmother, Charlotte is desperate to continue her search for the missing pages of her spell book, but the detective needs her more. Can Charlotte give Alex a clue into her world that can find the missing children? Where are the breadcrumbs when you need them? As they dive deeper into the investigation, Alex and Charlotte uncover a trail of deceit and wickedness that leads them to a seemingly sweet candy store owner. But things don't add up, and Charlotte's instincts are tingling with the presence of magic. Could the witch from Hansel and Gretel have relocated to the real world? All answers point to yes. This witch isn't the only bad guy they have to deal with. Just some evil is better at hiding than others.
