Part 1 of the Mordiar's Opus series
The final book in the Mordiar Opus Trilogy finds Marin and Kutkhu dead, the Karai-Sin sending in reinforcements to deal with what they believe is the god Mordiar Morduk, and the leadership of the Nergal Demesne killed thanks to Mordiar and Tatiana. But that's just the beginnings of Mordiar's worries. Azlyn the Jag't'gar is becoming more and more paranoid and clingy. Kerria seems to think that she can single-handedly defeat the Karai-Sin, Tatiana is... well, a Druzsni, and the Karai-Sin Infinite Drives within their cloaked ships have the nasty habit of losing containment and turning entire systems into black holes. With his own sanity getting closer and closer to the edge, Mordiar must somehow manage to navigate the collapse of the Demesne, the power of the Karai-Sin, and the females who seem to all want him for their own purposes, which include having lots of children. He doesn't want any children. He just wants to get back to his ranch and Bob and the dogs. That's all. And when it's all over, will Mordiar bow down to the inevitable and admit to the fact that billions of inhabitants of the multi-verse see him as a god? Will he start a religion? R. A Wayward Chant
by R. Peter Ubtrent
Part 2 of the Mordiar's Opus series
In the second installment of the Mordiar Opus, the Nergal Demesne, with the murder of his wife and two children, has set loose on the multi-verse the wrath of Mordiar Morduk. Determined to destroy the Demesne and all who command it, Mordiar has taken the hitherto useless rebellion and turned it into a killing machine and the high command has taken notice. Volarus, one of Mordiar's best friends, has been tasked with bringing him in, dead or alive and as the one who knows him best and blackmailed by the High Councilor, he just might be able to do it. With Tatiana the Druzsni, Yajna the Jag't'gar, Marin the Hor'ack, Ogdoad the Ogma, and the now young Kerria, Mordiar will destroy all in his path to get to those who ordered the death of his family. But he will only find more death and betrayal along the way as well as a new adversary, the Karai-Sin, who have been tasked with spreading the religion of their gods to all they encounter or kill them, whichever is easier. And then there is Yajna's parents, a foe who might just be the most dangerous Mordiar has ever faced. Romance, pain, betrayal, lust, and death all face-off against Mordiar and the further along he goes, the more he loses himself and might never find his way back. R. Mordiar's Hymn
by R. Peter Ubtrent
Part 3 of the Mordiar's Opus series
Mordiar Morduk was at pinnacle of his career. One of the youngest space-marines to achieve the rank of Maxim Quirinus, he had won every medal the Confederation offered, a few of them more than once. Then one day he was branded as a war criminal and forced into exile or be executed. For twenty years he has been hiding out on a planet trying to get through its industrial age, finding peace and solitude, his only real companion a combat-mech named Bob. Then he meets Cheyenne, a sixteen year old just off the stage-coach and over the next two years he finds that for the first time in his life, he has fallen in love and is ready to start a family. The leaders for the Rebellion show up then and ask him to join in their life-or-death struggle against the Nergal Demesne, who defeated the Confederation in a civil war and now threaten to bring the entire multi-verse under their dominion. When he refuses, Mordiar has no idea that he has set a chain of events in place that will shatter his life and throw him into the middle of and even larger and bloodier conflict as the Nergal Demesne will stop at nothing to bring him to justice. Thus starts the Mordiar Opus Trilogy. R. Peter Ubtrent was born in New York City but moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico at the age of eight.
