It's All Relative
by J. M. Snyder
Part 1 of the It's All Relative series
When Michael Knapp brings his lover Dan Biggs home to meet his parents, he doesn't expect things to go smoothly. His mother's been trying to marry him off for years, and sometimes he isn't even sure his father knows he exists. He has always felt like the shadow son, competing with his terminally stupid older brother and smart-mouthed little sister for his parents' attention. Coming out to them over dinner seemed like the perfect opportunity to finally get noticed. But an unexpected phone call interrupts his announcement -- Aunt Evie, the family matriarch, is dead. With Dan in tow, Michael follows his family to Sugar Creek, where he spent his summers growing up, to prepare for the funeral. Amid an overabundance of memories and relatives, Michael's world begins to slip. His dysfunctional family, Evie's death, and an old friend's confession all threaten to smother him. Worse, in his grief and confusion he seems determined to inadvertently push everyone away, including his lover. Can he and Dan move beyond his family and his past to a new life together, before Michael's insecurities tear them apart?

Whose Wedding Is It Anyway?
by J. M. Snyder
Part 2 of the It's All Relative series
Sequel toIt's All RelativeIt's been eleven years since Michael Knapp introduced his lover Dan Biggs and came out to his family over dinner. During that time, the two men have grown closer despite Dan's military career, which has taken him into war zones overseas. Their relationship has survived each deployment, and with the repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," their relationship is out in the open and stronger than ever. Dan was in Afghanistan when the Supreme Court made same-sex marriage legal in all fifty states, but the moment he's back from his year-long assignment, he pops the question. Michael can't wait to share the news, though it spreads a bit too quickly on social media for his liking -- the moment he posts a picture of their rings, his sister tells their mother, who insists on helping plan the wedding. Suddenly Michael finds the townhome he shares with Dan overrun with his family, who might mean well but who want to take over what should be his special day. He only just got engaged and they're already talking about where to host the reception! Whose wedding is it anyway?
