Max never thought he'd be willing to step through a portal to another dimension just to escape his father's expectations. That felt a little dramatic when he thought it out loud. Was he being dramatic? Maybe. Was the dimensional portal a convenient excuse he'd take anyway? Absolutely. But simple exploration turns into something else entirely when Max steps into hostile territory on the other side.

Max didn't mean to punch an ice tiger through a city bus, but in his defense-he warned it. The portal to the spirit realm was supposed to stay sealed. Instead, it's raining magical frost beasts, the vampire in charge is having an existential crisis, and Max is once again solving problems with his fists and zero backup plan.
