The Ultimate Mini Restoration Manual
Part of the Enthusiast's Restoration Manual series
Condensing several decades of hands-on Mini experience into a restoration manual that works with and enhances existing repair manuals, Iain Ayre encourages the reader to evaluate realistically their own potential, equip a garage as a restoration shop, and buy exactly the right sort of nasty old Mini.
Showing two major semi-professional body restorations, on older and newer classic Minis, this manual explains how a full-scale rust rescue job can be successfully tackled, before looking at the aspects of restoration not usually covered in repair manuals, such as rewiring, and rebuilding and retrimming seats.
Once your Mini is on its way to full restoration, you'll be shown the art of improving Minis, an art learned during the writing of hundreds of articles on modified Minis ⦠and in racing and crashing them.
Iain Ayre is a long-time Mini enthusiast, who has built and modified his own Mini-derived cars, and who has written many articles for MiniWorld and Mini Magazine.

Ducati Bevel Twins 1971 to 1986
Authenticity & restoration guide
Part of the Enthusiast's Restoration Manual series
Production of Ducati Bevel Twins spanned 15 years, and nowadays a restored bike with original parts will be worth about double the value of one with the wrong parts/detailing. There have been so many variations over the years that most people have no idea what is correct for a particular model. A would-be buyer's first question is always "how authentic is the bike?", not whether it is beautifully restored. So this book is a comprehensive guide to authenticity. The content includes colour codes, stripe widths, decal placement, etc. The practical chapters are by necessity broad. For instance, there were five fork types, more than five shock absorber types (many not rebuildable), more than five brake types and ten different frame types. These practical chapters cover little tricks in assembly and offer general advice rather than a detailed workshop manual-type description.

How to Restore Honda Sohc Fours
YOUR step-by-step colour illustrated guide to complete restoration
Part of the Enthusiast's Restoration Manual series
In 1969 Honda launched a motorcycle that many consider to be the world's first superbike. The Honda CB750 had the first mass-produced 4-cylinder inline engine, a single overhead camshaft with four carburettors, a 4-into-4 exhaust system, and came with electric start and front disc brakes as standard. This specification set the bar higher than ever before on a production motorcycle, and led to other Japanese manufacturers introducing their own 4-cylinder models.
Following the success of the original CB750, Honda went on to produce a range of motorcycles using SOHC 4-cylinder engines. All with their own characteristics, they proved to be reliable and smooth running, and even today, with the correct care, can offer reliable transport on modern roads.
Now, with some examples over 40 years old, many enthusiasts wish to restore these classic machines. This book will guide the enthusiast through a full restoration of these fine classic motorcycles.
How to restore Honda CX500 & CX650
YOUR step-by-step colour illustrated guide to complete restoration
Part of the Enthusiast's Restoration Manual series
When Honda released the CX500, the sales brochure stated 'First into the Future,' and described the bike as a road sports V-twin. Honda's first venture into the V-twin engine market, with water cooling and shaft drive, was certainly different from their previous twin- and four-cylinder models. Known for its good handling and fuel economy, the low maintenance Honda was comfortable, loved by tourers and couriers alike and, after overcoming early teething troubles, developed a reputation for reliability. Sportier models incorporating turbochargers were also released, for those looking for an additional adrenaline rush. After thirty years, there's now a resurgence of interest in the CX models, both from restorers and custom builders, with aftermarket cafe racer kits available, too.
The techniques, tips and tricks used by an experienced restorer will save you time and money. You'll see that you don't need expert knowledge or a fully fitted workshop for a restoration project. Packed full with photographs and detailed instructions, this book is your perfect guide, from start to finish.

Yamaha FS1-E, How to Restore
YOUR step-by-step colour illustrated guide to complete restoration. Covers all models
Part of the Enthusiast's Restoration Manual series
The Yamaha FS1-E is a 1970s icon. Introduced in the early 70s, it became an instant success, giving sixteen year olds their first taste of motorcycle performance and freedom, and totally overshadowing the other mopeds available at that time. Many riders had their FS1-E for only one year only before progressing to larger machines. Today, nostalgia for the youthful exuberance engendered by the 'Fizzie' has resulted in many ex-owners wanting to recreate their pride and joy. Most FS1E s have not endured the test of time well, and very few good original examples exist. There are plenty of restorable machines around and this book guides the do-it-yourself restorer through the minefield of initially finding a machine to restore and the pitfalls of a first restoration. The bikes featured in the photos are a seriously neglected 1974 machine, a part restored 1976 model - of dubious type, and a 1975 DX model which arrived as a pile of bits.
