Circles of Silver

Back in history, two magic rings were crafted from elvish silver and bound to each other with love . Nicolas is a silversmith, and Camille is a healer who has the gift of magic. They flee France to escape the persecution of 'witches' at the hand of the Catholic church in France and are shipwrecked on the coast of Ireland. They make a new life in Eire and come to understand the magic in the rings that helps them keep safe. Their journey of discovery includes a visit to the Elves, and the realization that their young daughter has inherited the gift of magic. The rings are passed on to the younger generation and are separated, beginning a tale of yearning down through the ages until the rings are reunited once again.

Caitlyn lives with her family on a farm near Limerick in the late sixteenth century. Caitlyn hides in an old cottage when the Redcoats come, and finds a silver ring there. Her parents are killed, so a family friend takes Caitlyn and two of her siblings on a journey to find their relatives in Wicklow. Along the way, the group finds an ancient treasure, and hides it in a new place to protect it from the English. Caitlyn becomes involved with the resistance movement against the English while living with her relatives. Tavis is in Scotland living amongst the border families near Hadrian's Wall. It is a life of thieving, violence and uncertainty, and when his father and brother are killed, he moves the rest of his family to safety. Taking the old silver ring that he found in his father's house, he travels to Ireland to find the young woman in his dreams. The rings help both of the owners on their journeys and draw them onto the same path, until the rings are together once more.

Ocean Pathways, the third book in the Circles Of Silver series, continues the story of the rings that resurface once again after centuries. With the aid of its magic and help from the old wise woman Sinead and her mysterious horse Mika, Robbie finds a new and successful life for himself away from the poverty that was a constant feature of his youth. Patricia O'Byrne, having been orphaned in the great famine, is sent to Australia as a young woman to work in domestic service. Her one possession is the silver ring that she found in the dirt floor of an old house in Wicklow near her childhood home. She forges a new career as a dressmaker and designer of ladies clothing, and when she voyages back to Ireland for business, meets Robbie, who owns a distribution warehouse. The two make amazing discoveries about their past and the history and purpose of the rings, and learn that the circles of silver did not come into their lives by coincidence. Patricia travels back across the ocean to settle in Tasmania, and the rings continue their journey through history. Will the ancient treasure be unearthed once more?

Threads of Gold is the fourth and final book in the historical series 'Circles of Silver'. The book opens during World War II in England, when one of the rings comes into the possession of a young man. After he loses his parents in the bombing, Tom makes his home with his mother's family in Ireland and works at the museum as a historian. The second ring, brought to Australia by Patricia Byrne in the 1800s, has been passed down in the family. Jackie treasures the ring. She is an aspiring athlete whose Olympic dreams were ended with an injury, and she studies to become an archaeologist. Unknown to her, she is also destined to travel back to Ireland, returning the elvish silver to its origins. Is the magic conspiring to bring two people together again, and to aid them in their quest to find the fabulous ancient king's treasure?
