One Sweet Dream
by Ari Rubenstein
read by Ari Rubenstein
Part 1 of the Loansharks & Lemonade series
I wrote this book in an effort to help creative souls who feel directionless and lost like I had been, and to provide hope through the stories of my life. To help them in ways teachers and authorities may have failed them. And to see their value in the world, regardless of their circumstances. The stories in this book feel like the movies l used to watch, like "The Outsiders", "Raising Arizona", "Rounders", and "Goodfellas", because I lived more in fantasy than reality. I'd listen to music and hear soundtracks to my crazy life unfolding, romanticized it all as a coping mechanism. But instead of seeing my past with any kind of regret, I chose to see it as the source of future inspiration. Oftentimes it's the struggles we endure early in life and the blues that result which become our greatest strengths later in life, reflections of which become the very thing we contribute back to the world. Our experiences provide glimpses of a higher ground with a broader view.

Part 2 of the Loansharks & Lemonade series
I wrote this book in an effort to help creative souls who feel directionless and lost like I had been, and to provide hope through the stories of my life. To help them in ways teachers and authorities in their lives may have failed them. And to see their value in the world, regardless of their circumstances, and in business, in the markets in which they'll trade in. All reportage confirms the Universities and trade schools seem to only teach crafts and not how to 'trade' those crafts. This I'm getting from all students I speak to and all professors at the schools I've given talks at and conferred with. It's simply not enough to learn the tools of a trade in order to be successful, one has to step into the shoes of their employers, their clients, to truly recognize their value. For me, memoirs and biographies have always seem to yield valuable insights into my career and life goals, and I hope mine serves you in a similar fashion. One thing to keep in mind is that realizing your dreams and satisfying your passions is only half the game, finding peace and a quality of life after which, is the real higher ground with a broader view.
