Don't Fear the Reaper
by J. C. Murphey
Part 1 of the Don't Fear Death series
Life as a college student is hard. It's even harder for Victor Rexford when a cult brings about the end of days via a botched summoning, and he happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Fortunately-or maybe unfortunately-Victor catches the eye of the Grim Reaper during this particular ritual, becoming further embroiled in an epic fight between supernatural entities. She needs him as a host to remain on Earth to exorcise the demons, and he needs to grow a spine.
Over 100 years later, the world is an apocalyptic wasteland filled with humans possessed by demons and mutated into monstrous forms. Vincent, one of the few remaining mortal humans, is sent out by his father and camp leader to find others to" join his flock." Instead, Vincent sets his eyes to the north of their humble camp in old Pennsylvania, following an irresistible pull.
What is he searching for? Who is calling to him from every shadow? And why is she so... sad?
Vincent will find that Death is not always the end.

Don't Fear the Dark
by J. C. Murphey
Part 2 of the Don't Fear Death series
"Life sucks, then you die."
At least, that's what Victor Rexford thought would happen after sacrificing his life to join the fight between the demon Azazel and the Angel of Death Azrael--Noira, as she is known by those closest to her. A sacrifice that ends with a soul barely held together with magic and a prayer, and a head full of doubt that he is good enough to be Noira's chosen consort.
What kind of evil can find its way through the cracks still left in Victor's self-worth?
"I cannot let him go."
Noira has her fair share of problems to deal with after wiping out and resurrecting all of humanity. The greatest of those problems is the horde of demons Azazel brought with him from Hell that cannot be allowed to go back. In a desperate act, Noira absorbs the horde--and all of their contamination--into her own body to trap as prisoners. Now, she can't connect with her new consort Victor, or anyone else for that matter, or risk letting the horde cross over to a new host.
Will the Angel of Death be able to contain the horde of demons long enough to find a permanent host? Who will she doom to keep the mortal world safe?
