Ben Raskin

Ben Raskin is the head of horticulture at the Soil Association in the United Kingdom and author of Zero‑Waste Gardening (2021). He teaches courses on organic growing, including community orchards, and launched the organization’s flagship Organic Apprenticeship Scheme in 2007. His interest in gardening began while working at an organic vineyard in northern Italy. With more than twenty years of horticultural experience, including work as assistant head gardener at Garden Organic, he has also written Plant a Tree and Retree the World and The Community Gardening Handbook.
