Alicia Witt stars as a brilliant 23-year old pianist whose promising life suddenly falls apart. Within days of graduating from the San Francisco Academy of Music, she gets rejected by a prestigious piano competition, her boyfriend dumps her and an earthquake forces her from her apartment. Distraught, she moves back into her childhood home where her neurotic family, in the midst of preparing for her older sister's wedding, awaits her.
