However, Flint's wish winds up sending Flint and Sam on the run from the law.

They use Flint's Walking TV invention to flash back to that fateful week, when their competitive spirit nearly destroyed the town. // Sam has to eat sardine-flavoured cheese on air for a story. She hates sardines, so Flint invents a device that will make the cheese taste like bacon instead. However, the device has some unforeseen bacon-related side effects.

Flint tries to get the town to pay attention to his inventions, but no one is interested. However, when Tim shows off his "invention" that keeps a pencil behind his ear, the town celebrates him and Flint gets jealous of the attention. // Sam shows Flint her most precious possession, her Princess Kittymittens toy. Flint accidentally breaks the toy and scrambles to fix it and make it up to Sam.

Steve finds the winning ticket for the Swallow Falls lottery and wins a million dollars. The townspeople all claim to be Steve's best friend, including Mayor Shelbourne, who challenges Steve's affections for Flint. // Flint and Sam need money so they can buy Weather: The Board Game, so they decide to babysit to earn the cash. However, their first client turns out to be their classmate, Baby Brent, who makes them humiliate themselves in the name of earning money.

5. Spoiler Orb // The Pandas are Coming

Flint modifies Sam's weather-predicting orb to predict the future. When the Orb gives them an ominous prediction, they vow to live today like it's their last. // Flint discovers Sam's inexplicably afraid of pandas, which she insists are aliens. Sam's worst nightmare comes true when Mayor Shelbourne brings a panda to town as part of a cultural exchange, and she sets out to prove she's right about pandas.

6. Inventors Only // Clock-a-Doodle-Doom

Flint breaks the window of a creepy house, and when he goes to apologize he finds out that it's the home of an inventor named Hector Evilman. Flint and Hector quickly bond over their shared inventing, but Sam is suspicious of Evilman's intentions. // Flint invents an alarm clock to wave him up in the morning by combining rooster and alarm clock DNA, but when it wakes him up in the middle of the night he throws it out the window and it rampages through town, waking up everyone else.

7. The Sardemom // Sardinefest

Tim wakes Flint up early for a fishing trip to catch the legendary Sardemon, the largest sardine ever seen. Tim has fond memories of Sardemon fishing with his father, but Flint's dislike of nature puts a strain on their father-son bonding. // Flint introduces Sam to Sardinefest, the town's celebration of Sardines. The Sardine Races catch Sam's attention when she realizes that poor helpless sardines are being thrown off a cliff.

8. Earl or Pearl? // Total Samesies

Earl, fed up with Flint's shenanigans, forbids him from inventing at school. When Earl catches wind that Flint is inventing anyway, he disguises himself as a new student, Pearl, in order to befriend Sam and find out what Flint is planning. // When Sam and Flint are teased for being too similar, they insist they have more in common with Brent and Gil than with each other. However, their new friendships test Flint and Sam's respective nerves.

9. Monkey Me, Monkey You // Best Invention Ever!

While cleaning his DNA combining invention, Flint accidentally combines himself with Steve. Sam documents the transition as Flint becomes the monkey-human hybrid he believes himself to be. // Flint comes up with his best invention ever while sleeping one night, and brags about it to everyone in town. There's only one problem: Flint can't remember what he sleep-invented, and only has a vague doodle to spark his memory.

10. That's Sal, Folks! // Cloudy with a Chance of Clouds

Flint accidentally De-Statuizes the statue of Sal the Sardine that sits in the harbour, bringing him to life. Sal, who's been watching over the town for years, can't help but reveal all the secrets he's overheard. // To celebrate their Friendiversary, Flint gives Sam a cloud maker that creates an adorable cloud pet. But things go haywire when Sam gets too attached to her new friend.
