About

After a year at River Cottage, Hugh decides that it is the perfect time to expand his operation by renting the field over the river, and purchase a Dexter cow and calf, a flock of Dorset Down sheep, three pigs, and a handful of chickens.

Now that he has some extra land to work with, Hugh purchases some livestock, prompting he and Angus Carmichael, a local carpenter, to build a fox-proof chicken coop. Hugh also goes scallop hunting, and enters a nettle eating competition.
