Top Gear - Season 06

On the test track, Jeremy drives the new supercar from Maserati - the MC12. Jeremy, Richard and James find out if you can buy a stylish two-door coupé for less than £1,500 and subject them to a season of tests. And the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car is comedian Jack Dee.

James May goes back to the 1970s with the Maserati Bora supercar. Germany and Russia give us their interpretations of the classic British sports car with the Weismann MF3 and TVR Tuscan 2. Richard Hammond finds out what happens when you take the roof off an Aston Martin DB9 with the new DB9 Volante. Elsewhere, Jeremy makes a splash when he opens a local swimming pool, and the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car is actor Christopher Eccleston.

The Cadillac CTS-V takes to the track, Richard tests the new BMW 3 season, and the presenters hand over reporting duties to their mothers, who test-drive a range of new small cars including the Renault Modus, Honda Jazz and Peugeot 1007. And the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car is comedian Omid Djalili.

James May road-tests the Murano, a new 4x4 from Nissan. Top Gear returns to the 1960s to define 'cool', with the Aston Martin DB5 and Jaguar E-Type. Richard road-tests the Maserati Gran Sport in Italy. In a deserted village, Jeremy comes under fire from snipers from the Irish Guards, all in order to find out which car is better - the Porsche Boxster S or Mercedes SLK. And the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car is racing driver Damon Hill.

Is a car faster than a boat? Top Gear decides to find out, via an epic race from London to Oslo with Jeremy in the Mercedes McLaren SLR and Richard and James on a boat. Elsewhere, the Stig takes the DBR9, Aston Martin's racing car, around the test track, and broadcaster David Dimbleby is the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car.

Which is faster - a man or a car? Jeremy finds out by racing in a Fiat Panda against marathon runner (AC Muir) along the London Marathon course. Also in the show, the TVR Sagaris takes to the test track; Ford's Transit van has a landmark birthday and gets sent to the Nurburgring to celebrate, and the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car is Darkness front man, Justin Hawkins.

Jeremy takes the new F430 from Ferrari for a spin on the Top Gear test track. A trio of convertibles (the Audi TT, Nissan 350Z and Chrysler Crossfire) head for Iceland. And the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car is English Academy Award, Golden Globe Award, Tony Award, and Grammy Award-winning lyricist Sir Tim Rice.

Which hatchback is the hottest: the Renault Megane, Vauxhall Astra VXR or Golf GTi? Jeremy finds out by taking them round the Top Gear test track. Richard Hammond and James May try their hand at Russian roulette road-testing by becoming scootermen (people who turn up on little motorbikes and drive you home in your car when you have had too much to drink). Clarkson gives his verdict on BMW's new M5. And disk jockey Chris Evans is the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car.

Jeremy finds out if a BMW 5 season diesel measures up against the 5 season petrol. In Iceland, Richard finds out if a jeep can drive across a lake. In Dubai, Jeremy road tests the new Bentley Flying Spur, the fastest four-door saloon in the world. Top Gear looks at the latest range of off-road toys. Formula 1 racing driver Mark Webber joins Jeremy in the studio and TV presenter Davina McCall (UK Big Brother) is the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car.
