When Chris (Emile Hirsch) has a stash of drugs stolen from him by his mother, he has to come up with six-thousand dollars, or he's dead. Enter "Killer" Joe Cooper (Matthew McConaughey), a hired hit man who will help Chris cash in on his mother's life insurance policy but requires his own fee upfront, no exceptions.
