A beautiful young woman is found dead at a dump, her face beaten to a pulp. Leading the investigation is Pierre Clement, a recently-named public prosecutor, who teams up with Police Captain Laure Berthaud and examining magistrate Judge Roban to tackle the horrendous crime before them: a muddy affair combining prostitution, drugs, business interests and politics.
