1952 American Western Series
Kit Carson is a frontier scout who travels around the West with his Mexican companion El Toro, helping people in need, fighting outlaws, and securing justice for all.
In this episode, Kit Carson and El Toro ride through the desert and are stopped by two deputy sheriffs, Trapp and Morgan, who claim to be looking for a pair of horse thieves. They search Kit and El Toro's belongings and find a letter from a sheriff in another town, asking for their help. They use this as an excuse to arrest them and take them to a nearby barn. There, they reveal that they are actually working for an outlaw gang led by Hackett, who wants to get rid of the sheriff and take over the town. They plan to kill Kit and El Toro and make it look like they were trying to escape. However, before they can execute them, they are interrupted by a group of teenagers who are friends with the sheriff's daughter, Sue. They free Kit and El Toro and take them to the sheriff's office. There, they meet Sheriff Banyon, who is an old friend of Kit's father. He explains that he has been under pressure from Hackett and his men, who have been robbing and terrorizing the town. He also introduces his daughter Sue, who is attracted to Kit. Kit and El Toro decide to help the sheriff and his daughter fight against Hackett and his gang. They devise a plan to lure Hackett and his men into a trap by using a fake gold shipment as bait. They also enlist the help of Tin Pot, a quirky inventor who has a fascination with explosives. The plan works, and Kit and El Toro manage to capture Hackett and his men after a shootout.
