To get off a murder charge, Squizzy and his boys will have to persuade a few witnesses. And what will he do with his freedom? Try to build his empire by getting in bed with Long Harry Slater.

After a swift retaliation for Slater's attack on Dolly, Squizzy sets off to orchestrate a gang war between Henry Stokes and Long Harry that will become known as the Fitzroy Vendetta.

With Long Harry and Henry Stokes out of the picture, Squizzy takes his spot at the top of the Melbourne underworld. And with a new wife and baby, he's feeling like a king. When he gets too comfortable, though, the law, an old friend and tragedy put him in his place.

Distraught after the death of his daughter, Squizzy plots a risky robbery to frame his enemies, who quickly seek retribution. But Squizzy's life brightens a little when he meets the lovely Ida.

Squizzy's on the run since Ida talked to the cops, but he's not exactly keeping a low profile. While the detectives harass Lorna back home, Squizzy's busy trying to bust Ida out of a convent.
