It's Alan's birthday. It turns out to be the worst day of his life when his girlfriend Ariel announces she's pregnant and he receives news of his estranged father Seng Lee's death - his father whom he believed died years ago.
Alan hangs out in 1965, making friends with his father, Seng Lee, and meeting his 18-year-old mother, Maggie, and their friends, Yusof and Veronica. Alan helps his father get a dream job at a top secret government agency, and a date with Maggie, his father's dream girl.
Alan has to deal with a new version of his life as a house husband with 3 kids, while his best friend Gary lives the good life as a swinging bachelor instead. An unhappy Alan must figure out what went wrong in 1965, so he can go back in time to reverse it and get his old life back.
Alan time travels back to 1965 to ensure that his father Seng Lee ends up with his mother Maggie on that fateful day during the MacDonald House bombing. Meanwhile, sparks fly unexpectedly between Alan and his mother's best friend, Veronica, while another danger lurks close by for Yusof.
Having "fixed" what went wrong in 1965, Alan returns to present day, expecting to get his old life back. To his horror, he's still daddy to 3 kids and worse still, finds out that he managed to mess up everyone's lives even more than before.
Things are starting to get complicated. Alan and Sofia make a "double loop", going back just one day in 1965, to try and save Yusof's life. But that also means that Alan has to break up with Veronica all over again.
Alan and Sofia accidentally time travel even further back, to 1956, and meet Seng Lee and Yusof as kids. Alan is excited to learn that his grandfather ran a secret society, except that Seng Lee was the "white sheep" of the family, a stickler for rules.
To Alan's relief, he returns to present day and gets his old life back! He decides to never time travel again and destroys the time travel stamp. But he realises he still has feelings for Veronica.
Alan sees a familiar face from 1965 and discovers more secrets about time travel and the Future Planning Division. Life may be back to "normal", but are things the way they should be?
