Kit Carson is a frontier scout who travels around the West with his Mexican companion El Toro, helping people in need, fighting outlaws, and securing justice for all.
In this episode, Kit and El Toro are on their way to San Diego, where El Toro is supposed to marry his sweetheart. On the way, they stop at a ranch owned by Dave and Meg Owens, who are old friends of Kit. They learn that the Owens have been cheated out of their land by a crooked lawyer named Sam Devlin, who has forged a deed and sold it to a cattle baron named Bob Mason. Devlin has also hired a gang of gunmen to drive the Owens off their property. Kit decides to help the Owens and confronts Devlin and Mason in town. He challenges them to prove their ownership of the land in court, but they refuse and try to kill him. Kit escapes with the help of El Toro and the sheriff, who is on his side. They then devise a plan to expose Devlin's fraud and recover the original deed, which is hidden in his office. They manage to sneak into the office and find the deed, but they are discovered by Devlin and his men, who start a gunfight. Kit and El Toro manage to hold them off until the sheriff and his posse arrive and arrest them. The Owens are restored to their rightful ownership of the land and thank Kit for his help. El Toro then resumes his journey to San Diego, where he hopes to marry his bride.
