The Knitting Enigma
by Vella Day
Part 3 of the Time Travel Talisman Cozy Mystery series
Vella Day brings you another crazy time travel story of a haunted saloon and hidden treasures. The last thing I expected to see today was John, our timeline agent--or whatever he was calling himself these days--in our hometown. Millie, my best friend and time traveling buddy, was thrilled. I was not. John claimed that he needed our help to keep the timeline from falling apart. Why us, you might wonder? He claimed we were good at knitting and asking questions. And where did we have to go? To Dry Gulch, South Dakota. In freaking 1880. Even John admitted that it was a fairly lawless mining town where the ratio of men to women was 200 to 1. Okay, that part sounded fine, but no Internet? Poor facilities? And the food? Would it be something the men shot that day? Like rattlesnake? But, of course, Millie, who had a slight crush on our time traveler thought it would be fun. Our assignment seemed simple enough. Find out what or who was behind the supposedly haunted Red Lantern Saloon.Since John gave us a bag of gold dust and a trunk full of period clothes, I guess it wouldn't be all that bad. The Knitting Quandary
by Vella Day
Part 4 of the Time Travel Talisman Cozy Mystery series
Join me and my best friend Millie as we are given our first official time travel job: that of finding a rogue time traveler and escorting him back to the present. The time frame? Ancient Greece right after Aristotle opened his school called the Lyceum. I will be the first to admit that I was apprehensive about the accommodations and food back then, but neither turned out to be a problem. Other than the fact I couldn't wear my glasses--since they hadn't been invented yet--it was pretty luxurious back then. Okay, we couldn't drink the water. Instead, we had wine. Oh, the hardship. The cool part of the job was that the great philosopher Aristotle said he'd help us out, despite him not being told of our exact mission. As usual, things didn't go smoothly, and we ended up having to search for Aristotle who disappeared before we could move on with our job.If you'd like to hear about our adventure, close your eyes and picture the Parthenon and all of the ancient Grecian temples. The luxury will surprise you. Want 3 FREE books?
