Who will you be next?

Part 1 of the Repossible series
Before 2012, I had come to the conclusion that the life I had dreamt of living just wouldn't happen.
I was sad about it but I thought, "I guess that's just the way it is."
Well, sad is a tiny little word.
Let me start off this book real.
I was depressed, without hope or energy, full of regret, anger, and yes, sadness.
I had imagined my life as being something that I was so far from I couldn't see it happening anytime soon and probably not ever.
I was doing work I hated in a city I no longer loved and I was empty of desire and full of despair.
You know those moments in the movies, usually accompanied by dramatic music, when lightning strikes or the guy hangs on to the cliff by his pinky toe and then miraculously saves himself (and probably the rest of the planet) and goes on to cure cancer and star in the remake of The Shawshank Redemption?
Yeah, well, it didn't happen like that for me.
For me, it was walking down Larkin Street in San Francisco on the way to a dumpy Burmese place when I "came out of the closet" to one of my closest friends and said I wanted to be a writer.
But that I wasn't.
I had given up.
The stars aren't aligned.
The universe must not really have my back.
It's a conspiracy!
I didn't yet know about the big verbs.
I didn't know how to Ask, I didn't Dare Decide to Create. I wouldn't have known how to Meditate if it Sparked me in the face. The only thing I Surrendered to was my sad fate. Play was for those kids on the swings and the closest I got to Elevate was in the elevator.
Then I changed my habit. Just one. I say "I" did it but I had help. John Muldoon coerced me into writing Every Single Day.
Not the book, but the concept of daily writing.
The verbs came.
The ideas blossomed.
Repossible grew from a seed of nothing into a tree of something.
I can barely remember that guy on Larkin Street, crying my tears of woe.
But he got me here so I thank him.
But between that guy and the person I am today is what you have in your hands.
What you have in your hands is Repossible.
Possible
Impossible
Repossible
Oh, by the way.
This is me reaching out my hand to you.
Here we go.
I'm rooting for you.
Decide
There's usually a choice. It's usually yours.

Part 2 of the Repossible series
Look away. Don't read the next line. But you did. You're here. On line number five. You made a decision. These words influenced you to make that decision. Now you have a choice. Which is both the good news. Because that choice is usually yours.
We make decisions every single day. Tiny ones all the time. Big ones, too. What if we could improve our decision-making skill? Build that muscle?
Get better at decision making so that: Decisions become easy, Answers become simple, The "bigger picture" becomes more clear, We have more time in our day, We know what to do, We know where to go. All because we made a decision to start off a chain reaction of decisions that could very well lead you towards where you want to go. Make a decision right now and join me on the trail leading towards simpler and easier decision making. Or don't. It's up to you.

Part 3 of the Repossible series
When I sat down with my then-8-year old on the red chair in early March of 2014, having just read a pretty boring children's book and said, "Wow, that book was pretty bad." I then immediately followed up with, "We can do better than that." My son looked at me like I was crazy (I was) and challenged me to follow through on my dare (I did). Within a month, we had a book published.
Now we can boast almost all of the list below:
1.) We have sold 1,000,000+ books in 89 countries and 7 languages.
2.) We sometimes had to resort to bribery, coercion, and ice cream to get a chapter done.
3.) Just on royalties alone, Li is eyeing a Maserati for his 16th birthday.
4.) We created something from nothing and no one can ever take that away.
5.) We get regular calls from Hollywood producers about making the movie versions.
6.) We broke all of Audible's rules when we recorded the audiobook version--and got rejected.
7.) Both boys have transformed into perfect angels who study Mandarin in their free time after violin lessons and before their volunteer work for global literacy.
8.) I have audio proof of my 10-year old narrating Chapter 8 that I can use at his wedding to embarrass him beyond his wildest nightmares and I can bring that up whenever I like to remind my boys that we are a family who shares experiences (and it's good for blackmail).
9.) We did it all right.
10.) We did it all wrong.
11.) We did it. Period. OK, so maybe it's every other item on the list. The big secret? Take the list above and choose which one you like. This book is going to help you create a bond with your kids. The only thing you have to do is be the spark.

It's time to answer.
It's time to dare.
Many of us shy away from asking the tough questions we asked in book one, Ask.

Is it possible to change who we are?
Could it be that we have a say in what type of person we become?

What can I do now to change my future?
We've asked the tough questions. It's time to dare answer them.

OK, I promise, the whole book doesn't have so many "d" words ...
But I do like to take these meaty subjects, these tough nuts to crack, and make them light-hearted and our friends--so we can then crush our fears like buzzing mosquitoes and get back to creating our future lives.
