Reno Gates

The second book in a brand new Western series from C. Wayne Winkle! Reno Gates and Will Morgan have completed a trip around Wyoming and are headed for Salt Lake City. There, they meet Marshal Garett Coleman, who asks them to escort Eva Mayes to Sacramento for a trial. Faye Gilson, Eva's best friend, is also with her. Once some issues dealing with trust are handled, the foursome gets on its way. There are forces at work trying to prevent Eva from testifying in Sacramento. While Reno has an idea that there are people following them, his hope is to outrun them. But circumstances prevail, thrusting Reno and Will into a battle with an outlaw leader and a gun hand hired to stop Eva from ever getting to Sacramento. Along with renegade Shoshone Indians, there is some doubt that Reno and Will can deliver Eva to Sacramento. But then again, they are Reno Gates and Will Morgan.

Reno Gates and Will Morgan are on the trail again, this time going to the Pacific Ocean that Will wanted to see. Along the way, they stop at a trailside store where a blonde-haired girl gets Will's attention. She and her family are headed to Oregon by wagon. After seeing the ocean, Reno takes Will up to Oregon to visit a good friend of Reno's. Along the way, they have to deal with men who want to rob them, a town intent on hanging a Black man, and the deaths of that blonde-haired girl and her family. Reno's friend is almost killed by the son of a wealthy rancher. Of course, the rancher wants to get his son away so he doesn't have to face any consequences. But Reno and Will go after the boy. Facing rugged mountain terrain, Indians, the rich rancher's men, and the rancher himself, Reno and Will capture the boy. But will they get out of the mountains with him?
