Tortured by memories implanted by his captors, Krona knows only one thing. He must find Tenna, his partner, his Queen. She can't be dead. But when Ricardo, one of his human guards, tells him she's alive on another space station, the truth might be just as painful as their lies. With her memories missing and her planet supposedly destroyed, Tenna struggles to acclimate to life among humans. Olivia, a spaceship pilot and hacker, does her best to help. When a guard shows up with an alien Tenna knows she's seen before, it's obvious things aren't what they seem. When they learn that family ties bind enemy and ally, Krona and Tenna can only hope the honor they see in their human friends is strong enough to overcome blood. Can they work together to save themselves, their minds, and their tribe? Or will they lose everything?

With their tribe decimated by human cruelty and stranded in the stars, Tenna and Krona labor beneath grief and rage. Misplaced guilt and substance abuse mean they have to survive themselves in order to help the Regonians their families abducted. But deep in the stars, the Drennar, advanced aliens who've been abducting humans for years, are changing, and it could spell doom or salvation for the remnants of humanity and Regonians alike. Can they learn to work together to face this new development? Or will their inner demons tear them apart?

As ambassadors Olivia and Ricardo prepare to journey to Regonia with humanity's new allies, Tenna and Krona welcome them into the tribe and into their own family, giving them a sense of belonging they've never felt before. But joining the tribe and going to war at their side means approaching Daen Tribe's allies on Regonia, allies who may greet them with sharp blades to keep out the dreaded star-sickness. Meanwhile, Rone and Reginald welcome newly-emotional Drennar into their own experiment. They just have to find a way to bring them into the rebellion without jeopardizing the secrecy that protects them, the Humans, and the Regonians. Now, they must all find a way to maintain their sanity as the perils of war loom over them. But when the Drennar decide they need Olivia for their next experiment, will the fight be over before it begins?

War is coming, and the Drennar, a hive mind of advanced aliens, will stop at nothing in their pursuit of knowledge. Though Olivia's cyber defenses stood against them, they cut their way into Termana and the space stations to abduct thousands. Now, Reginald and Rone must warn everyone that they're coming for Olivia next and coordinate battle plans and uprisings while separated across planets. Will Rone's rebellion within the Drennar world be enough to tip the scales? Or will they all die as prisoners?
