When the shattered fragments of the Black Moon collapsed onto planet Earth, splitting continents apart and flooding them with raging oceans, Darkness descended onto our world. The eruptions of hostile energy from behind the Edge distorted the laws of the physical world, creating new life forms which now threaten to take over the planet. The last remaining vestiges of humankind, too desperate for their own survival, have nothing to offer against their advance. So it's time to activate Incarnation: the last instruction issued by Project Stellar. In a situation when there are not enough living beings to protect planet Earth, the dead fighters will have to rejoin the defenders' ranks.

What's this book about? It's about the ancient mysteries of the Earth ravaged by mysterious entities from over the Edge. About the Black Moon hovering over the planet's one last remaining City and about its Legion created by Incarnators of old. About the Possessed warped by the power of primeval Darkness. About the Warriors, Enchanters, and Technomancers who once rose to defend humanity from the ancient evil. And it's about a man stuck in the body of a young Legionnaire tribute, still continuing on his journey across the world in order to solve the mystery of his past and rediscover his purpose. And in order to do that, he first needs to survive the trip.

Every survivor dreams of one day making it to the City. Humanity's last hope, it boasts the best resources and the greatest minds, bringing together the creme de la creme of the surviving civilization. Behind its unassailable walls and impregnable protection dome, the City bustles with life almost indistinguishable from the state-of-the-art culture of the fabled Utopian era. Grey sets off on a journey to the City in order to solve the mystery of his past. He's about to witness the ruthless training methods used to shape the children of the Seven Clans into new Warriors, Enchanters and Technomancers. He's about to meet the City's true rulers and finally discover the real purpose of Project Stellar.

" Once Grey's true identity becomes known, the giant shadow of his past spreads its wings behind his back, summoning the immortal troops onto the Esplanade in order to fulfil the ancient oath of the First Legion. Still, no one likes sharing power. The City Archons are no exception. Grey and his followers are branded as rebels and traitors, triggering a fratricidal war in humanity's last refuge...

Attention everyone! This is a directive from Stellar's serving Grand Legate! Locate the Bullet Star. Eliminate the Daat. Restore the First Legion. Upon completion, use any means possible to lift the Black Moon Alert! The Council of the Archons has been overthrown. Prometheus's final orders have been received. Still, a new menace is about to sweep over the City. Grey sets off for Neo Ark in order to face his old enemy. Or is it a friend? After all, no one really knows who the first Incarnators were or how they ended up on planet Earth.

"I hereby command: To connect the military orbitals as to the Sky Strike scheme. To launch a synchronized strike targeting the Black Moon as soon as it comes into range. To ensure the complete exhaustion of the missiles' Absolute reactors to trigger annihilation processes." By the time Grey had come back with an army of new allies, the Legion had been defeated. Many an Incarnator had fallen as heroes, leaving the City on the brink of destruction. Thousands of souls still trapped inside the Cube are trying to break free from their extradimensional prison while the Star watches impassively from its celestial heights. But it's not the A-monsters, Shivas, or Possessed Ones who present the main danger. It's he who'd launched Project Stellar-and who's now revealed his true face, threatening the very existence of Incarnators.

Now that Grey has delivered the city from the attacking hordes, he still has a lot of work on his hands. He needs to pay the Bina Shea a visit, find the Bullet Star, investigate the mysterious Project Aurora-and above all, he needs to restore the First Legion to its former glory. But most importantly, he must eliminate the Daat and cancel the deal that Prometheus struck with the treacherous demon many centuries ago...

The Bina Shea call us a 'Dead Swarm'. We may resemble a swarm, but we're not quite dead yet. We are very much alive. We're human. Always remain human, as Prometheus used to say. These words can have many meanings but right now, their message is perfectly clear to all of us Incarnators. You who are reading these lines, remember: we're about to face death because we want to stay human. Ave! Guided by Prometheus's directive, Grey and his fellow Incarnators are heading for the Black Moon in order to complete Stellar's final mission. Accompanied by the allied Swarm of the Bina Shea, they must transport the Nucleus into the hostile depths of the anomalous planetoid. But in order to do so, they must retrace the steps of the long-perished First Legion and discover the dark secrets of the Black Moon.
