Mobile Wound Care is an expanding practice in order to meet the needs of patients. Nurse Practitioners are able to see patients in their homes, assisted living facilities, residential facilities, and nursing homes. Many times, geriatric or disabled patients have difficulties with transportation, pain management, and good care for wounds. Many brick and mortar clinics are unable to meet the needs of their communities. By understanding the role of the wound care nurse and the requirements to provide in-home care, nurses can be a part of the solution for major wounds and chronic skin issues.
