Max Booth Future Sleuth

It's 2424. Max and his robo-dog sidekick, Oscar, are out to solve another techno-history mystery! They've been asked to identify an object that's baffling everyone; a 198 - Eighth Grade0s cassette tape. But there's more to the tape than meets the eye and the ears! When devious Dr. Grizzlowe tries to take credit for the tape's rock-tastic recordings, Max and Oscar know they're going to need all their future sleuthy skills to put things right.

Max and Oscar-Bluggsville's sharpest pair of sleuths-can't believe their luck when they find a 400-year-old roll of film. They soon discover it contains a long-lost snapshot, and know they've found something super-special. Unfortunately, they're not the only ones who realize how rare, and valuable, this photo could be. Max and Oscar are going to need all of their wiliest wits to keep it out of the wrong hands!

Max and Oscar are given a pet ID microchip to identify. A rice-sized electronic device, Max has never seen anything quite like it. Using an ancient library book scanner, he obtains a reading from it. It's a mysterious code, with the Bluggsville City logo beside it. Max and Oscar uncover the identity of the dog it was assigned to and are determined to find out why the chip was never implanted. Oscar, smitten by the dog in the photo, is especially eager. When their hunt lands them at a pound for robo-dogs, they resolve to set the dogs free. Little do they know the chip is transmitting their location details to forces that threaten their own freedom.

When Max discovers an old GPS car navigation unit in the storeroom, he and Oscar risk another excursion down to the ground to discover its real purpose. They find a way to switch it on and realize they can see the previous owner's journey history. They decide to retrace the owner's most recent trip, which was made on Jan 22, 2018! The device sends Max and Oscar onto streets that no longer exist, directly into the scene of an art robbery. To avoid discovery, Max and Oscar hide in the thieves' van-copter and are taken far beyond the borders of Bluggsville. Max and Oscar must find a way to use the rusty navigation unit to apprehend the thieves, and find their way home.
