by J. R. Salisbury
read by Mary Sarah
Part 1 of the Love and Devotion series
When Savannah Dawson married the second son of an English earl, she never dreamed she'd have to leave America, let alone enter the aristocracy at her son's side. Yet when the earl dies and her husband disappears at sea, Savannah's life is upended. Bringing her young son to England to meet her shrewish mother-in-law is only the beginning of her trials. The dowager countess has asked a duke to assist in the new earl's education-a man whose power and position could define the course of Savannah's life. Proud and stubborn, Savannah refuses to be intimidated. And yet neither can she resist the attraction between them.
Reformed rakehell Gabriel Armstrong, Duke of Clevedon, has no room in his life for a woman. Especially an American commoner, the widow of his childhood friend. Beautiful and bold, Savannah nevertheless captivates his imagination.
Rumors abound that Savannah's husband is alive. Forces are at work to deny her son his title. And when an interloper arrives demanding repayment or revenge, the life of Savannah's son is in jeopardy. Savannah and Gabriel must work together to escape the shadows that could blot out the light of their future.

Part 1 of the Love and Devotion series
This is theCOMBINED VOLUMEof the 2-bookLove and Devotion Series, which includesThe Love of Being Loving andThe Love of Devotion. A grand and magnificent truth radiates from within all of life and each of us. May you discover in your heart a sweet lightness, the luminescent glow of God's beauty, and a genuine appreciation for the wonderful gift of life, which glows unmarred through every human error. We are loved by the Divine, loved into existence. That, in itself, is enough to reassure each one of us of our inestimable worth.
• The Love of Being Lovingis about the earlier adult years of my spiritual development. Dr Thomas Hora (Metapsychiatry) and Mary Baker Eddy (Christian Science) were the most significant influences on my spiritual path during my twenties and thirties.
• The second book isThe Love of Devotion. In my forties, I started reading a series of metaphysical books by Dr David R. Hawkins. I realised they profoundly impacted my growth, and Dr Hawkins became my next spiritual teacher. Dr Hawkins (Devotional Nonduality) and Dr Hora came from similar spiritual and intellectual terrain. We are drawn to a certain field of truth that resonates with our inner leanings. My interest in understanding thought drew me to teachers who also had a deep interest in human consciousness.
