Tory Cuthbert is the owner of Misty View Motel, and he's mostly satisfied with his life. He rarely thinks about the time, fourteen years ago, when a boy he loved -- Wheeler Ridley -- left him behind. Maury Landrum, one of Tory's employees, is a tempting morsel, but Tory can't seem to bring himself to take the next step, even though he knows Maury would be more than willing. Then Wheeler turns up at the motel and doesn't even recognize Tory when he hits on him. After Wheeler's repeated attempts to get into Tory's pants, Tory reveals that they knew each other and what happened when they were kids. Wheeler remembers things differently, however, and Tory realizes he's actually been wrong -- all this time. When Maury abruptly resigns, Tory finally wakes up to what's been right under his nose. And he has to get Maury back, no matter what.

Austin Murray is fifty years old, owns a bookstore, and loves to walk on the beach at sun-up. He's a beachcomber, too, always in search of something unique to add to his collection. One such winter morning, an unkempt, sad-looking stranger roars into his life on a motorbike and his heart turns over for the first time, ever. Murphy Vickers is world-weary, hurting, and unable to connect with anyone. He travels from place to place looking for work, but never stays anywhere very long. He's trying to outrun a painful event in his past that haunts him to this day. When he stops in a seaside town, he meets Austin, who offers him a job and a bed for however long he needs them. Murphy is surly and reticent, But Austin won't let that stop him from breaking through his barriers, and maybe getting a biker of his very own.

Serge Zumpano is obsessed with René Glass, owner of Crumbs Together, the local bakery and patisserie. Not only is the man gorgeous, but his pastries are so good, they make Serge weak in the knees. Put both together, and he's a gonner. Serge knows he has it bad when just tasting a cinnamon roll has him sporting, er... well. But, as addicted as he is to the man's decadent creations, Serge doesn't see himself as good enough for someone like René, famous the world over and completely out of his league. René won't let that stop him, however, because he has his eye on Serge, too. Step one: get Serge to build him a second shop. Step two: get the man to come over to his house. Step three: seduce him with pastry. Naturally, it's not that simple. But Serge is René's obsession, and he won't let him get away.

Bill Cascade knows what it's like to have nothing, so it's easy for him to recognize another human being on the brink. When Bill visits his favorite bar one night, he comes across Thorn Blackstone, a twenty-something hottie who has everyone eating out of his hand. A fight breaks out and Bill comes to the rescue. Thorn, however, doesn't want Bill's help and pushes him away, at first. When Thorn finally shows up on Bill's doorstep, he's dirty, hostile, and starving. Bill ignores all of that and gives Thorn a chance to start over. Trouble is, Bill wants Thorn for his own, but thinks he isn't good enough for someone with such a bright future ahead of him. Naturally, Thorn thinks that's hogwash. What's a guy to do when the love of his life won't take no for an answer? Hold on and never let go.
