Indian and Me

Julia Townsend accompanies her abusive British military husband to America during the American Revolution. She feels lost in that she finds herself married to a man she did not want, and is now living in an unknown environment. Her husband had to find a guide to lead his troops through the wilderness of the New World and recruits a Seneca Indian named Ki. Julia's job is to teach the Indian how to read, write, and map making skills, but as they work together, they discover a shared connection of being outsiders, when Ki realizes that he too is adrift in the world of British warfare and privilege dominated by white men.

This story takes place during the American Revolution and includes battles that occurred during this period. Julia Townset is a very unhappy newly married bride who comes to America with her military husband. She has been given the task of teaching a Seneca Indian guide Ki to write and read. As they work together, they build a relationship that will last a lifetime. Ki overhears a plan by Julia's husband to kill her because he has only married Julia for her money, but Ki has other plans because he wants Julia for himself. As the story progresses Julia and her sister Megan, learn what it is to become American.

"The Thief and Me" takes place during the end of the American Revolution when England had total occupation of New York City. Two people, Jake and Jenny, find themselves thrown together after being shipwrecked on a voyage to America. They must hide their identities and create a fake marriage to survive in the New World. This book is a sequel to "The Indian and Me" and follows the struggle Native Americans faced after the Revolution to find where they fit into the new nation. Ki and Julia Rainsford find themselves in the middle of this struggle, and Jake and Jenny's adventures will test Julia and Ki's marriage to the extreme.
