In Pursuit of God

To be awesome speaks of being extremely impressive or inspiring awe. Make no mistake, God is awesome. When we say "God is awesome," we are not merely using a phrase of admiration; we are declaring a divine reality that echoes through Scripture, through history, and through the deepest places of our own lives. The word awesome in its truest sense points to something-or someone-who inspires holy reverence, wonder, and worship. And no one fits that description more perfectly than the Lord our God. Yes, our God is awesome. He reigns from heaven above with wisdom, power and love. Unsearchable. Boundless. Beyond the limits of human reason. This is God. He spoke galaxies into being with a word. A God who holds the oceans in the hollow of His hand. A God before whom mountains melt like wax. This is not a small or distant deity. This is the everlasting God, the Creator of heaven and earth. His Name is awesome. His Name is above all other names. No one can defeat Him. No one can stand against Him. Because God is awesome, our response must be wholehearted worship. Worship is not just singing-it is surrender. It is giving God our lives, our plans, our fears, our future. It is acknowledging that He alone is worthy. When we trust Him, we declare His awesomeness. When we obey Him, we honour His greatness. When we praise Him, we align our hearts with heaven. In every sunrise and every answered prayer, we praise an awesome God. In every act of grace and every moment of mercy, we honour an awesome God. In this day and age of troubles, strife and calamities we need to seek, yearn and desire to burn for God by His holy and pure fire! God burns for us in love so we need to burn for Him! The fire of God is the very presence of God through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. It is the anointing and the flow of the power of the eternal and living God. The fire is also the light of God, for fire is light. God is the source of all light as an all-consuming fire. For Christians to be "in" the Lord, they must be in His fire to produce the light and the heat of His love and glory. The Bible teaches that we must be holy as He is Holy. We do so by being refined by His fire. Glory to God, His fire is spiritual, not natural. It is majestic, beautiful, and runs like a liquid in our soul and spirit. How we need to be consumed by His fire so that we may shine His light and dwell in His manifested glory! Yes, the fire is a blazing presence of the Spirit so that we may stand victoriously, overcome in joy and be triumphant in praise and worship to the Great I AM. Let it burn God so that we may burn in Your love and hope!
