Holidays and Celebrations with Yasmin

It's Juneteenth! Yasmin and her parents want to learn more about this holiday that celebrates the end of slavery in the United States. During a trip to a Black history museum, Yasmin is so amazed by the exhibits that she gets lost! As Yasmin looks for help, she discovers that family togetherness is an important part of celebrating Juneteenth.

It's almost the 100th Day of School, and Yasmin and her friends are celebrating 100 days of learning! But what will Yasmin wear for the special day? After she explains the holiday to her grandparents, Nani helps come up with the perfect idea to make Yasmin's 100th Day outfit 100% unique!

Yasmin and her classmates are learning about Indigenous Peoples' Day. They attend a powwow and festival to celebrate the holiday, enjoying the beautiful regalia, the rhythmic music, delicious food, and more! Then something special catches Yasmin's eye, and she learns about beautiful Ojibwe dream catchers meant to protect children.

It's the morning of Eid, and Yasmin and her family are hurrying to get to the mosque to pray. But Yasmin can't find her special outfit for the day, her new shalwar kameez. When the search turns up nothing, Yasmin is reminded that sacrifice, or giving up something special, is an important part of this Muslim holiday. She decides she will have to sacrifice and wear something else... or will she?
