Good Necromancer

Seven years ago, I swore I would never talk to dead people again. All I wanted was a new life with no spirits, no black magic, and no demons. But it's like they say in the movies: once you get out, you get pulled back in…by the giant scorpion demon who murdered your family.Word on the street is that he wants to hang my head on a necklace. Nothing good ever happens when my phone rings. I'm seriously considering installing a pigeon messenger service in my home. First call, a detective wants to investigate my necromancy. Sheeeeet… What does a necromancer do when they're backed into a corner? They practice some cold hard magic. It's going to take a whole lot of it to get out of this one alive. All I want is to celebrate my dead parents' fiftieth wedding anniversary with a quiet little séance. Do a deal with the Lich King, revel in old memories with my mom and dad, and enjoy a weekend for a change. Then, my daughter who I haven't seen for seven years shows up at my doorstep with a baby. If you think that's crazy, I haven't even made it past the first chapter. The next time I want to have a quiet night, I'm going to spend it at a hotel. Pop! Pop! That's the sound of a gang gunfight in front of my house. Never a dull moment in the hood. Rrrring! That's the sound of a real estate agent calling to offer me a boatload of money for my historic house. Half a million dollars and I'll never have to hear another shooting again. No, I'm not taking the money. The only way I'm leaving my house is in a body bag. "Say what???" Speaking of bodies, that's what the police are saying when the dead body in front of my house vanishes in broad daylight…in front of hundreds of people. Coincidence? Of course not. But I'm not solving any supernatural problems today. Why, you ask? I'm taking my grandson Malcolm to the zoo, that's why. The world is just going to have to find another necromancer to solve its problems for a change. …Don't see it? Me either. Sheeeeet, here we go again.

Boy, did I step in something deep now… Problem #1: I've never seen a wolf in my life. Now, three wolf shifters are trying to rip me apart in a parking lot. Problem #2: I left my gun at home.
