Roger Ramius Sergei Chiang MacClintock was young, handsome, an excellent dresser, and third in line for the Throne of Man. So it wasn't surprising that he also became spoiled, self-centered, and petulant. But that was before he found himself shipwrecked on the jungle planet Marduk, full of damnbeasts, carnivorous plants and barbarian hordes. If anyone can get him off Marduk alive, it's the Bronze Battalion of the Empress's Own Regiment. But will Prince Roger manage to grow up before he gets them all killed?

Prince Roger was a whiny, useless spoiled brat—that is, until he was marooned with his bodyguards on the vicious planet Marduk. Facing damnbeasts and killerpillars, Roger turns out to be a true scion of his warrior dynasty after all. His guards are determined now to get him home—but the planet has other ideas.

Marooned on the enemy-occupied planet of Marduk, despised royal Brat Prince Roger MacClintock and his Marine bodyguards must march and fight their way through steaming jungles, carnivorous beasts, murderous natives, and perpetual rain to the only starport— which is controlled by the Empire's worst enemies. But neither Roger nor the Marines are about to give up. Marduk, do your worst!
