Rae Spencer's aim in life is to eradicate domestic violence. She's 38, single and about to have a whirlwind year of changes, with a few tears and lots to smile about along the way. With her boss, Eve Brewer, the drive is on to educate teenagers about destructive relationships, and take the northern town of Barrow off the top of the DV tables.Miles Kenyon and his team are also working hard to eradicate DV from the town, but in a totally different way. The finale in this tetralogy: It is January 2009. Rae has given birth and is looking forward to being a mother. The new friend Rae met at ante-natal classes, Heather Irving, has her new son, Jasper. Heather's partner, Lewis, doesn't seem too keen on being a father and Heather wonders why. The new DVU is being renovated, bringing a much needed resource to Barrow. Matt Torrance's dossier on The Network is about to create mayhem across the country and amongst the government. Miles Kenyon is under more pressure than ever. Is his evil regime about to come to an end?

July to September 2008: It’s July 2008. Shocked by the news that a perpetrator has killed his partner and newborn baby, Rae, pregnant herself, tries to focus on the high school's stage production, followed a few days later by her wedding. For Rae and her boss, Eve Brewer, the campaign goes on to educate young people about domestic violence, whilst continuing their fundraising for a women's refuge for the town. Meanwhile, Miles Kenyon and his team are busier than ever and their service is stretched to capacity. It seems the perpetrators of Barrow are keen to enjoy the facilities of The Network.
