Having completed their co-authored manuscript, Weston and H.P. consider the hard work finished, but a new threat necessitates their continued collaboration...rescuing an abducted friend from a grave fate. The pair must save their friend and unravel the mystery of who's behind the abduction-all while keeping those closest to them out of the crosshairs. Have Weston and H.P. pushed their luck too far? Will they be able to expose the puppet master behind this tortuous plot before time runs out?

Springtime brings new beginnings, but a relative of an old adversary brings peril and chaos for Weston and his friends. The group is pursued through their hometown and beyond by an enigmatic assailant set on revenge, and the reason for his hostility seems rooted in H. P.'s past. Will H.P. and Weston unravel the mystery of their pursuer's identity before they and their friends are caught? Will people from their past be able to help, or have they only reappeared to inflict further harm?

Weston and H.P. are once again called upon to match their wits (such as they are) against the nefarious organization that they've each run afoul of thrice before, but now this diabolical cabal is under new leadership, and the first order of business is eliminating old enemies. Further complicating matters, the duo's closest friends are implicated in a high-profile crime that threatens their livelihoods and possibly even their lives. Now no one is safe, and every revelation pulls them further into harm's way. Will Weston and H.P. discover in time who's behind the insidious plot to ruin their new year?
