One day Persephone is an ordinary high school junior working at her mom's flower shop in Athens, Georgia. The next she's fighting off Boreas, the brutal god of Winter, and learning that she's a bonafide goddess--a rare daughter of the now-dead Zeus. Her goddess mom whisks her off to the Underworld to hide until Spring. There she finds herself under the protection of handsome Hades, the god of the dead, and she's automatically married to him. Thanatos--a friend from the Underworld, has betrayed her. Persephone can't tell anyone about Thanatos' betrayal, and it drives a wedge between her and Hades. And then there's Aphrodite, the gorgeous goddess who was born among the ocean waves with more charm than she can control. Persephone's dearest ally, Melissa, is furious and jealous when Aphrodite starts winning Persephone's friendship. Persephone turns to a human boy for friendship. But will their relationship put him in danger? Persephone must choose between her human life and her responsibilities as a goddess. If she doesn't, she could lose that life and Hades, too. He'll do anything to protect her . . . even if it means sacrificing himself. Still, they find allies in the most unexpected places . . . More goddess than demigoddess, Medea is married to the rebel leader, Jason. But there's something odd going on. Jason is acting very strange, and Medea finds herself drawn to a new demigoddess who mysteriously arrived on the island half-dead. She senses there's more to this visitor than meets the eye. In the chaos, the demigods have risen up, blaming the gods for their misfortune. Nobody is safe from the demigods . . . especially a Pantheon sympathizer like Aphrodite. And they've come up with a deadly test to uncover any imposters. Aphrodite knows she can't do this alone. It will take the whole Pantheon to get her out of this mess.
