Kira Nielson thought that she was an ordinary twelve-year-old with an ordinary life. All of that changes, when she sees a dragon crash-land at her school, then gets kidnapped by a boy wearing rocket boots, and is taken to a mythical world through a portal that is inhabited by dragons! Tom has spent his entire life bouncing across various orphanages without a family to call his own. He's finally resigned himself to this life, keeping his head low and only few friends by his side. When a mysterious stranger shows up and offers to provide Tom with a home and family, it almost seems too good to be true. But, things take a turn for the worse.
