The 49 States Tour
by Tiffani Burkett
Part 1 of the Chronicles of a Motorcycle Gypsy series
A journey of 38,000 miles begins with a single twist of the throttle.
After six years of laying rubber on racetracks and immersing herself in the high octane, adrenaline pumping sport of motorcycle racing, Tiffani was yearning for something new from her life on two wheels. Fortunately (or unfortunately?) losing her comfortable office job was the perfect opportunity to do exactly that.
At 28 years old, single, unattached, and now unemployed, she took her 2015 Yamaha FZ-07 and built the nimble sport bike into a make-shift adventure motorcycle. She packed it full of camping gear, and set off on an adventure that she had always dreamed about.
The problem? Tiffani had scarcely traveled outside her long-time home in Los Angeles, let alone with nothing but a tent and hope to keep her safe.
“Chronicles of a Motorcycle Gypsy” is an inspiring tale of confronting fears, insecurities, and self-doubts for the sake of following your heart, all while discovering the many wonders of the 49 continental United States. Tiffani encounters some of the best and worst of humanity, meets a friend that eventually makes her journey a little less lonely, and puts all of her riding skills to the test, struggling with everything from her first time riding a sport bike in deep sand to getting caught in a blizzard in the Colorado mountains. It's a big world outside the racetrack!
Originally published as a Travelogue in Motorcyclist Magazine as Girl Meets World, this full-length memoir contains the untold stories and the details that were a little too racy for the blog. If you loved Ewan McGregor and Charlie Boorman's “Long Way Round” and Ted Simon's “Jupiter's Travels”, you'll love “Chronicles of a Motorcycle Gypsy!”

South of the Border
by Tiffani Burkett
Part 2 of the Chronicles of a Motorcycle Gypsy series
Losing her job was an opportunity, not a tragedy.
Fresh off of a nine-month journey, camping off her 2015 Yamaha FZ-07 sport bike through 49 US states and 3 provinces of Canada, Tiffani Burkett wasn't ready to return to a nine-to-five. She had picked up a freelance gig as a motorcycle journalist, she had met someone, and she still had a little bit of her dwindling life savings left in the bank.
Naturally, the only logical course of action was to to set her sights toward the next set of landlocked states in North America: Mexico. Despite growing up in Los Angeles, she had never been south of the border, didn't speak any Spanish (except for the swear words she learned in high school), and even without the recent political unrest, it seemed that everyone had plenty of stories to tell about cartels and crime and violence.
But if fear was enough to stop her from living out her dreams, she wouldn't be a motorcyclist in the first place. Whether it's dealing with broken down equipment in the wild west city of Durango, a passport debacle in Costa Rica, or a last-minute flight to help a friend race the North West 200 in Ireland, people are far better than the media implies, and what she finds is a wonderful journey through new cultures, new environments, and new found strength in both herself and her growing relationship with her travel partner.
“Chronicles of a Motorcycle Gypsy: South of the Border” is the second book in a series of memoirs. Originally published as a “Travelogue in Motorcyclist Magazine as Girl Meets World”, this full length memoir has been rewritten from the ground up to include the untold stories and the details that were a little too racy for the blog. It also includes a full pack list and bike builds for the aspiring ADV rider, and lots of pictures for every chapter!
If you loved Ewan McGregor and Charlie Boorman's “Long Way Round” and Ted Simon's “Jupiter's Travels”, you'll love “Chronicles of a Motorcycle Gypsy”!

Chronicles of a Mermaid: Scuba Diving and Backpacking in Southeast Asia
by Tiffani Burkett
Part 3 of the Chronicles of a Motorcycle Gypsy series
The two things I've always feared most in life are drowning or being paralyzed. So naturally, I started scuba diving and racing motorcycles.
Tiffani wanted a change when she left Los Angeles, but moving to Northwestern Montana for the winter might have been a bit too much of one. Six months of isolation, an absent partner, and endless snowfall was enough to send anyone spiraling into depression.
As her heart and relationship held onto their last fraying threads, she made a rash decision to save them both. She quit her job, shoved her things into a backpack, and booked two one-way tickets to Thailand. She was going to become a scuba diver. She was going to try to salvage her relationship. And like a true mermaid, she was going to swim her way out of the blue hole she had drowned herself in while taking a journey through a sensational world within our vast oceans.
So, what if she didn't know how to swim.
“Chronicles of a Mermaid” stands alone as the third book in a series of travel memoirs, following the life of a young woman seeking adventure in spite of her clumsiness, anxiety, and fears. This chapter in her story will take you through three months of backpacking through Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Japan, with a sarcastic and self-deprecating sense of humor, and pictures included with every chapter!

Dirt Bikes and Dinosaur Bones
by Tiffani Burkett
Part 4 of the Chronicles of a Motorcycle Gypsy series
When life gives you lemons, run them over with your dirt bike!
After taking the year off to save up money and establish a more portable career, Tiffani Burkett was finally ready to get back on the road and finish her 'Round the World’ ride that she had started on her 2015 Yamaha FZ-07. Little did she know that getting rid of everything in January of 2020 would be one of the biggest mistakes of her life.
Or perhaps one of the biggest opportunities.
With her plane grounded, international borders closed, and no home to quarantine in, Tiffani and her travel partner, Hollywood, turned their focus towards the American wilderness, rife with trails and challenges that would entertain even the most advanced dirt bike rider. But there was just one issue: Despite over a decade of riding on roads and racetracks, Tiffani didn't know the first thing about riding off road, and learning to ride dirt as an adult presents its own set of mental and physical challenges. But if she wanted to ride across Siberia one day, it was about time to face her fear, anxiety, and self-doubts that had held her back from the braap for all these years by turning the summer into a dirt bike boot camp.
With their old Chevy pickup, a Kawasaki KLX125, a Kawasaki KLX250, and a lot of hope, they set off to the Rocky Mountains to ride some of the greatest trails the USA has to offer, finding Dinosaur Bones, old mines, beautiful backdrops, and a whole lot of single track and stream crossings along the way.!
