The Actuary's Wife
by K. T. Bowes
Part 2 of the Calculated Risk series
Emma Andreyev assumed her husband would give up his unpredictable role as the Actuary when they reestablished their marriage. That was her first mistake.Thriving on risk, Rohan misses the signs of danger closer to home and puts his relationships in peril. Ever present is Christopher Dolan who offers Emma friendship despite his reputation as fickle and untrustworthy. About to make her second mistake, who should Emma trust; the serious, logical Russian or the Irish seducer?Struggling to build a new life in the sleepy town of Market Harborough, Emma finds solidarity in the strangest of places and loyalty where she least expects it. Her work as the archivist at a local school unearths a deadly historical nightmare, leading to hurried bargains, bloodshed and the death of a family member. Her biggest mistake is believing that truth should always be revealed. Sometimes, family is more important. The notion of man-made truth is subjective and circumstance forces Emma to hold her past up to the light - and watch it crumble. The first time K T Bowes won a writing competition she was six and the sound of the applause as she went up on stage stayed with her for at least half an hour.
