The afterlife is a mess of bureaucracy littered with nonsensical rules. It's a fashion disaster for a uniform and a job that doesn't pay. It's a heinous communal living situation with housemates who have no concept of privacy or personal space. Bridget Sway is happy … because Bridget Sway is shopping! At long last she has new clothes. New shoes. New makeup. Bridget is about to add some much needed underwear to her purchases but, instead of finding a frilly knicker and bra set, she finds a matching alive dead body and its ghost. Despite her history with the victim no one is accusing her of murder so, this time, Bridget thinks she might just get to sit this murder solving spree out. Unfortunately for her, pretty much everyone else has other ideas. With a handsome parole officer keeping a closer eye on her than ever, housemates to protect from a murderer (as well as each other), a new job to hold down and eyeliner to not smudge, Bridget's afterlife is just not getting any easier. But the important thing is she has new shoes …

That is, until her handsome parole officer's homicidal ex-ward, Crazy Katie, escapes from a mental institution. When bodies start falling at Bridget's feet Crazy Katie is the natural suspect. Bridget and Sabrina decide all they need to do is find Crazy Katie, hand her over to the GBs and everything can go back to what passes for normal in the afterlife. Simple. But with housemates like barnacles, a GB officer taking an exceptional interest in her and an irritating Barbie-esque adjustment companion, who might be her handsome parole officer's girlfriend, dogging her every step Bridget's afterlife just isn't that easy. On the up side, at least there aren't any dead bodies stuffed in her locker …

Regardless, she is determined to close the matter quickly and move on to something more challenging. And then, the dead body of the Afterlife Arrivals Commander topples out of the stationery cupboard. Within hours, she's the front runner to replace him which places her neatly in the killer's sights. She's also the front runner in the pool of suspects who murdered him which unsurprisingly places her neatly in Detective Johnson's sights. With help from unexpected quarters, and discovering some unsettling facts about the Independent Authority, Bridget has some big choices to make about her future . . . if she can dodge the killer and a prison sentence long enough to make them.

Bridget's afterlife has finally settled down into a nice, safe, dead-body-free rhythm. And she couldn't be more discontent. And then someone starts murdering livies . . . with a scythe. Feeling partially responsible, Bridget jumps into the investigation with both feet, her best friend Sabrina, and all of her housemates in tow. But, as crazy as it sounds, finding a killer isn't Bridget's biggest concern. Her biggest concern is how will she be able to survive the mundanity of the afterlife once the investigation is over.

Bridget Sway has been dead for seven years. She and her best friend, Sabrina, are running a wildly successful private detective agency. She gets to wear what she wants, eat what she wants, she's even made peace with her communal living situation. Everything is . . . perfect. And yet, once again, Bridget is drowning in dissatisfaction. The problem? No one is murdering anyone. Their days are filled with infidelity cases and not much else. So when a client's potentially cheating husband goes missing, Bridget and Sabrina jump at the chance to do something different. And that's when Bridget's dream of finding a dead body comes true. But it's been several years since their last murder case and they're a little out of practice. Add in the shadowy forces of IA sabotaging them, Detective Johnson pursuing his undying vendetta against them and Bridget's ex-fiance getting in the way, and suddenly investigating a murder is a lot more dangerous that Bridget remembered.

Not so newly dead Bridget Sway is making a difference. Sort of. She and her best friend, Sabrina, are solving murders all over the show while minding their own business. And then Detective Johnson shows up at their office and drops a missing person's case in their lap. Although deeply suspicious of his motives, they decide it would be wise to at least give it a cursory investigation. Forewarned is forearmed, after all. And that's when things get messy. With Oz is keeping secrets, little to no information to go on, and practically no suspects, can Bridget and Sabrina solve their case and stay on the right side of the law for once?

Bridget and Sabrina are considering a career change when a reporter brings them a case they can't refuse. A vandal is graffitiing a small area of Scarborough. Not earth shattering as cases go, but Bridget is certain the vandal is Petal, her newly-graduated-from-probation housemate. Already unsure of how they're going to get the reporter off Petal's trail, things go from bad to worse when Bridget finds a doubly dead guy sitting in front of some fresh graffiti. With a new Detective Johnson being far too understanding and suspects dropping dead at every turn, can Bridget and Sabrina unmask the murderer before the blame is pinned on Bridget's housemate?

It's Bridget Sway's deathiversary and the afterlife is pulling out all the stops. Bridget Sway is still uncertain about her future as a private investigator. But when the Bureau of Ghostly Affairs invites her and her business partner, Sabrina, to give a presentation at a conference, they can't really say no. Thinking it will be all tea, biscuits, and boring speeches, Bridget isn't expecting too much excitement. Until she finds a dead body. That's not totally out of the ordinary for Bridget, but something about this murder has echoes of the past. Will Bridget be able to solve this last murder as neatly as she solved her first or will her past murder her too?

Death doesn't mean what it once did to Bridget Sway. When Bridget Sway's friend is murdered during a seance, Bridget and her best friend, Sabrina, vow to bring the killer to justice. The problem? The seance took place in the alive world which means the killer is very likely a livie. And they have no jurisdiction in the livie world. With very few options of how to proceed, Bridget and Sabrina decide to shadow the livie detective as he investigates the death. With this livie detective's unintentional help, will Bridget and Sabrina be able to identify the killer or will the murderer cross mortal lines and make doubly dead ghosts out of Bridget and Sabrina to cover their tracks?
