Wilfair

A (possibly) magical motel, a (potentially) haunted hotel, and the young (and infatuated) competitors running each are at the heart of Wilfair. Hotel heiress Fair Finley is a week shy of her twentieth birthday, eats frosting for breakfast, and dresses like long-gone film goddesses. She isn't yet the seasoned leader her hotel magnate parents want her to be, due to the fact she's prone to pleasing people who often don't deserve to be pleased. Fair's first problem? She inherited The Wilfair Hotel long before she was ready to oversee it. But her major headache? The famous Los Angeles landmark she owns famously lacks a swimming pool. The motel next door has one, but the handsome cousins who own the property won't let the young executive steal it; they're rather fond of Fair, she thinks, maybe, possibly, sort of, and she's a little mad at, and mad about, them. And stealing 24,500 gallons of water from someone you like is complicated, messy, and nearly impossible. Further flying up Fair's ointment? A hotel ghost that suddenly isn't acting like itself, friendly movie stars with memorable forearms, and physical places showing up where they shouldn't be. Wilfair is the first in a series.

The second in the Wilfair series. Nineteen-year-old hotel heiress Fair Finley must steal a motel and its pool from Monty and Gomery Overbove, her handsome, friendly neighbors. But places are changing places with other places and the world is going weird, and only the cousins' moms can help. Fair, the guys, and her best friend Sutton leave LA and make for the Sierra Nevada mountains in order to find the ladies. Their journey is not easy. Problem one? A large, underground building is hot on the group's tail. Problems two and three? Fair's favorite movie star shows up in the mountains, as does her longtime rival, and neither will stay out of her snooded hair. Then there's the curious inky taste in air at The Redwoodian. Ick. But the biggest issue of all? Fair's desire to toss the kindly cousins out of their motel home continues to falter. Fail, really. Kaput. If the young hotelier doesn't steal the little motel and its pool then Thurs Mathers, the crisp-shirted tycoon of front-page fame, will snatch her hotel and fast. Oh, and one last little matter? Not falling in love with one of the motel cousins is on the nearly-20-year-old heiress's already overloaded to-do list, too. Not falling in love quite yet, anyway. 'Stay Awhile' follows Fair, Gomery and Monty Overbove, and Fair's best pal Sutton Von Hunt as they attempt to find out where the cousins' mothers might be and why buildings seem to be moving under their own power. Several weird discoveries are made during the quartet's mountain road trip, leading the young hotelier to land on a major decision, and announcement, about the motel's pool and the futures of her two nice neighbors. How she arrives at her life-changer of a decision, and the journeys she and her friends embark on, are in the light-hearted mix. As is Gomery Overbove, who is about a billion times more important in the heiress's mind than 24,500 gallons of chlorinated water and some old diving board.

"Fairwil: Wilfair Book 4" follows Los Angeles hotel heiress Fair Finley and her two handsome motel-managing neighbors, Gomery and Monty Overbove, as they attempt to solve a caboodle of metaphysical mysteries (like if a whole world is beneath their feet, where the guys' parents are, and if Fair and Gomery will ever kiss beneath the diving board that sits at one end of the motel's swimming pool). Movie stars, teleportation, kittens, balloons, finding one's power, mystery, club sandwiches, stringless banjos, and intimate handholding round out the humorous and heartfelt coming-of-age tale.
