Taking Chances
The Poetry Book
Part 1 of the Taking Chances (Simmons ) series
Writing became a part of my life at an early age. My first stage of writings was in the first grade. I remember writing a story that I thought absolutely was the greatest story of all time. The story was about a boy "who liked to play with his toys". The story had maybe 10 words in it and mostly pictures. I remember writing that story and I remember that as my first time enjoying writing. As an adolescent in middle school, writing became a big part of my life because I started reading more, therefore I learned new words. Writing also helped me out a lot in my time of need when I would go through heart aches at home with my family. I started a journal and I would write down what happened to me and how I felt about the situation and how it turned out. I would write in my journal every day and everyday when I learned a new word or words I would insert the words into my journal. This helped me build my vocabulary, I knew this technique worked and I got addicted to learning new words. I kept writing throughout my life. Then I began to get biased to writing. I would only like to write about things that I loved to write about. Which are "my life", poetry of my life or views of others. Then I began to struggle in writing because moments in my life I saw no point. I have grown from that stage. I enjoy writing as a whole. I write now because my heart sees it as my truth and my way of communicating with many that are like me. By Jake Simmons Jr #42
