Tad O'Malley & the Sylvan Quest
Part 1 of the Tad O'Malley series
Tad O'Malley, a red hair, no-nonsense Sylvan, prefers living alone in his pinewood. However, one morning he receives a letter and must suddenly leave his home to find and rescue his uncle, trapped in a dangerous scheme by a mysterious villain who isn't working alone. With his companions, O'Malley travels through unfamiliar lands filled with hazards and with hope. As he encounters dangers, confronts personal fears, and receives unexpected help, O'Malley realizes the great value of friendship. But will friendship be enough to save his uncle from a murderous stranger and his shadowy companion? Will O'Malley understand the consequences of his uncle's discovery and the theft of certain ancient documents before it's too late? Deborah D. Smith is a middle school librarian with a passion for sharing books with her students. She also enjoys growing flowers, visiting new places, and listening to people tell their stories. Tad O'Malley & the Sylvan Quest is her first published book. She is currently revising the second book of O'Malley as he struggles to return to his beloved home in the pinewoods. She is also working on a short story collection of Florida fairy tales. Deborah believes that every person has a story and that all our stories connect and merge into one wonderous, metanarrative. She hopes that you will recognize your story within the greater story and share it with others.
