This series is a spinoff of the Bruised Series.Baltimore Detectives Dee Quarter and Connie Wilks spring into action when a woman is strangled to death. The investigation immediately leads to Dee's ex, Grayson, who still wants her. As if Grayson isn't enough to deal with, the case brings Dee to Jonathan Wild, the leader of a cult called The Circle. The charismatic Jonathan is unlike any man Dee's ever met and his interest in the feisty cop goes beyond the case, threatening Dee's romance with Winston Lewis. Dee loves Winston with all her heart and despite curiosity for Jonathan, she refuses to get sucked in, but Dee doesn't know Jonathan plans to make her a member of The Circle whether she likes it or not.While juggling her love for Winston and intrigue toward Jonathan, Dee fights to solve the case, but will she lose herself in the process?

Baltimore Detectives Dee and Connie hunt to find Boyce Vickers, a man who has recently gone missing. The more the detectives dive into Boyce's life, it becomes obvious that there is more to his case than meets the eye.When her jealousy of Lisa causes friction in her and Winston's relationship, Dee finds sanctuary with The Circle. Though she swears she won't be taken in by Jonathan's relentless advances, Dee is hopelessly drawn to the charms of the community. Yet, after Jonathan tries to force her into an initiation ceremony, Dee realizes she's in danger and vows never to return to the compound. Winston warns Jonathan to away from Dee, but after Dee goes missing, Winston's convinced Jonathan is behind her disappearance. Winston fights to save Dee and get Jonathan out of their lives forever, but Jonathan's obsessed and vows to make Dee his no matter the cost.

Winston is shocked when Connie informs him that Prisha, an ex-member of The Circle has been murdered. Believing Jonathan is involved and to have an excuse to see Dee, Winston signs on to help Connie with the case.During the investigation it becomes impossible for Winston to keep his mind off Dee. He tries everything he can to get her back but when Dee insists she belongs with The Circle and Jonathan, Winston second-guesses the power of true love.As time goes on, Dee settles into her role in The Circle but after Jonathan does something horrendous, Rena can't bear the guilt and tells Dee the truth. Dee is devastated to learn what Jonathan has done and vows to make him pay. Meanwhile, Connie and Grayson's friendship grows into a hot and heavy romance yet demons of the past threaten the blossoming couple's happiness.

Winston and Dee try to move on from her ordeal but as things are looking up, Dee's plans of legal action against Jonathan blow up in smoke. After Dee makes a decision that betrays Winston, their happy reunion takes a hostile turn, pitting the lovers at each other's throats.Vowing to get Dee back, Jonathan gets a surprise when Shauna, who used to be his most loyal member of The Circle, shows up with an ultimatum. She demands Jonathan gives her what she wants or she'll expose his dirtiest secrets.Dee and Connie take on the case of the Kengs, a Korean family shot in Little Korea. The detectives are stomped on who would kill law-abiding Jehovah's Witnesses and their teen daughter. Surprisingly, there's many suspects including a Korean affiliate of the Crips whose connection to the family make Dee and Connie question if the Kengs were as innocent as they seem.

Dee and Connie take on the case of Lang Latimer, a beautiful piano teacher who was brutally murdered. Twists abound from the beginning, and the detectives begin to doubt if they will ever find the killer especially since Lang's past becomes as much of a mystery as her death.Dee and Winston take legal steps to keep Jonathan out of their lives but even the law can't stop his impending wrath. Jonathan is even more obsessed with possessing Dee. The conning cult leader develops an incredible scheme to have her, shocking everyone at how far he'll go to get what he wants.Connie comes in contact with two suspicious figures from the past who might know more about Lang's murder than they let on.
