Revolutionaries, thieves, or terrorists? Depending on who you talk to, Spider King and his cohorts in the infamous Gordian Net are either criminals or revolutionaries in the ongoing struggle against the corporations that have replaced the federal government of the formerly united States. Nobody pushes their notoriety as Robin Hoods harder than Spider himself. Arrogant and egotistical, Spider is a veritable rock star of the hacking world. It would be annoying if he wasn't actually every bit as good as his talk. Attracted by their reputation, a peculiar client approaches the Gordian Net with an opportunity that could be the score of a lifetime. But what first appears to be a simple hack-and-grab run quickly snowballs into an all-out war with the most powerful tech company in the world. Spider will have to outthink, outrun, and outmaneuver the most ruthless street operatives in San Francisco without becoming the next victim of a new weapon of unspeakable horror.

Into the badlands… Spider King is back! This time he's been hired to recover a secret government project that has been stolen by one of the most vicious booster gangs in the world. The problem is they are hiding out in their high-rise fortress in the Nevada desert, outside the protection of civilization and the rule of law. Teaming up with his new friends Nishi and Elegua, Spider has to leave his comfort zone in San Francisco and risk it all for a chance at glory-or at least a substantial pay day! Of course, nothing is that simple. A kidnapped scientist complicates the entire situation, and Spider begins to suspect that the mysterious super-taker known only as St. Jude may have her hands in the pie as well… Splicefire 2 continues the adventures of Spider King, but it is an entirely self-contained story.

Spider King barely knows anything about the mysterious programmer known only as St. Jude, except that she pays well and keeps her cards well-hidden. That's understandable, considering she's hiding from Richard Newbridge, a cold-blooded industrialist bent on killing her for stealing priceless secrets. Once again, she comes to the Gordian Net for help, but this time, it's a job so dangerous that no amount of money seems enough to take it on. She is asking them to break her father, a top-level computer scientist, out of the most secure prison on the planet. Are Spider, Nishi, and Elegua in over their heads this time?
