Set more than 10,000 years in the future in the Spacer universe, Sarah Walker is about to leave her home planet for the first time to attend advanced educational opportunities on Tau Epsilon, but her transport is intercepted along the way and she, along with the passengers and crew of her ship, are taken by slavers to their home moon where she is trained as a domestic slave and sold to one of the cities upper class citizens. But one day she is given away to a lowly artist from the poor side of town and Sarah comes to discover that even the worst worlds can have a bright side.
