Hurna's Vengeance
by G. J. Kelly
Part 3 of the Six Concentrics series
The Six Concentrics Book 3A week has passed since Benmelo stunned the Court of Nerrenglade by returning the sword of Elleese to the golden hand in the Great Hall. Yet, all is not well...Rocked by revelations and shunned by Gladings, the master hunter abandons Nerrenglade, and together with his friends Paj and Sambal Arlock, rides for North Turreton. Hoping for military aid from Rickerd Erlson, Benmelo soon comes face to face with the harsh political realities of life in the six rings. With few friends and even fewer allies, Benmelo rides for the fifth northwest to seek advice from the Shreev of Sennenglade, Tarla Sebateen. But there's a reason for a dream-seer's prediction that the hub would be girdled by fear, and the reason is far more terrifying than Bay'ah Shades or corrupt Bandavinor wizards fleeing the mist-light of Elleese... The town is blighted by a curse, and the curse has a name: Quarlo Bregg, corrupt wizard once of the first ring.Benmelo has marked Quarlo Bregg for death, but the town is big; big enough to smother the master o' the green's keen senses and render him all but useless in the hunt for the Bandavinor. And then there's the nine Shaded Griffelax serving their mystic master, too...Benmelo needs a plan, and has the germ of a desperate idea which might succeed in liberating Peakpuddle, but only if his friends Paj and Sambal have the courage to play their parts, and can hold their nerve long enough to see it done.Alas, Quarlo Bregg has a curse of his own waiting for Benmelo, and many forces are now converging on the poor fifth-ring town.
