Red Cloak Island

Kevin McFarland wanted to attend the world's only school for superheroes on Red Cloak Island ... until he got there. On his first day he has to deal with awful new nickname, bullies with frightening powers, and a severe case of homesickness. From there, things just get worse. An illness spreads across the campus, afflicting students and teachers alike. Who or what could be the cause? Well, it started the day after Kevin arrived and the first person to get sick was in Kevin's class. It doesn't take any real detective work to identify Kevin himself as the prime suspect. Now the school is locked down -- no one is allowed in or out. More people are falling ill each day. Can Kevin clear his name, earn his classmates' trust, and figure out how to save everyone on the island before it's too late?

It was all fun and games, until lightning struck the lasagna. When a prank gets out of hand and wrecks the cafeteria of the Red Cloak Island school for superheroes, Hunter Maximus (a.k.a. Invisible Max) finds himself in big trouble. His classmates are upset with him, his friends will barely talk to him, he has to serve a month of detention, and he's not allowed to use his invisibility super-power. He resolves to make amends but finds himself breaking more rules when he accidentally overhears a secret plot to destroy Red Cloak Island. Or does he? He has no proof, and even his friends think it's just another prank. How can he win back their trust and prove the threat is real, without getting himself -- and everyone around him -- in even more trouble? And even if he can do all of that, is it already too late to stop it from happening?

Hidden inside a volcano, Red Cloak School trains the superheroes of the future. Competitiveness is encouraged, but sometimes things get out of hand. When Paige Bender, blessed with the ability to stretch her body many times its original size, loses her temper in a race against a classmate with super-speed, she finds herself left off the guest list for a very special field trip. She won't get to meet her idol, the superhero Flexeria, or tour the monolithic Justice Alliance building. But her closest friends are going, and they seem too excited about the trip to feel bad that she won't be with them. What could be worse? How about an attack on the Justice Alliance building by a gigantic robot? How about all her friends being in danger, and Paige being in no position to help them? Then top that off with the return of Psi-Bor, a supervillain so dangerous he has a whole chapter devoted to him in the Red Cloak Island School textbooks. The day needs saving, and it looks like even the Justice Alliance are outmatched. Can Paige find a way to reach her friends in time to be the hero everyone needs?
