A mystery not just Moms will love! After the death of his wife, New York City detective Dave heads west to the small town Mesa Grande, Colorado, and takes a job as Chief Investigator for the Public Defender. When a rivalry between two professors at the nearby college reaches a deadly level, it is with the help of his visiting Mom - a wise, tough, shrewd Jewish New Yorker - that Dave untangles a complex puzzle that leaves everyone, except Mom, guessing.

Have no fear when Mom is on the case! When the Reverend Chuck Candy is found shot to death three days before Christmas, there's only one person in all of small town Mesa Grande, Colorado who can solve the case: Mom. Chief Investigator of the Public Defender's office Dave asks for her help in clearing an innocent man charged with the reverend's death-and Mom leads him to discover a web of unlikely connections and sinister intentions.

Trouble is afoot, and Mom is on the case! Chief Investigator Dave is at the first night of the local amateur theatre's production of Macbeth when the curtain is brought down abruptly on a real-life murder. "The show must go on" and does, but the killings do not end, and there is more drama offstage than on for the doomed production before Dave-and (sshh!) Mom-arrive at the bottom of it all.

Mother and son to the rescue, in the fourth Dave & Mom mystery Dave's latest case involves the murder of a local madam, whose body is discovered in her bedroom along with a homeless man named Harry. The district attorney is eager to convict Harry despite his plea of innocence, but the public defender is ready to fight. With Mom and Dave on the job, it won't be long before the real killer is running scared.
