An Impotent Rake
by Emilie Jacobsen
Part 3 of the Lust and Longing series
"Well, I can't help you if I don't know why you need help," Alicia said as gently and patiently as she could manage, looking pointedly at him.
"Right," Lord Lindley said and resumed the pose where he leaned his elbows on his knees and pressed his fingers together with the matching finger on the opposite hand. He was looking at his hands, not her, as he continued speaking. "I've had some problems lately… with… you know… getting it up."
Alicia had to control herself to not let her jaw drop. Was George Miles Stanhope, the seventh earl of Lindley, the biggest rake in London, a man that seemed to have slept with half the women of the ton, and probably even more besides that, was he telling her that he could not get an erection?
The former courtesan Alicia has spent the past three years building a business as a woman that helped people of the upper classes with their sexual difficulties. Even though she is used to receiving a number of people, she is surprised when one of London's biggest rakes, Miles Stanhope, the seventh earl of Lindley, seeks her out, needing her help to cure his impotence before his wedding.
The two had slept together once six years ago and as they start to work on Miles' problem, they find that the attraction is still there. They start an affair, but it quickly becomes apparent to both of them that there is more to it than simply sex. But can a rake that doesn't believe in love fall in love himself?
An Impotent Rake is the third book in the series Lust and Longing. It can be read independently.
